“On the shelf” Pomegranate Molasses

Our first ingredient of the year for “ On the shelf “ is Pomegranate Molasses. This has been a firm favourite in our house for a number of years. It is a traditional ingredient in middle eastern cooking that has an amazing flavour. It has an intense, tart and fruitiness that works well in sweet and savoury dishes. It might be the sort of thing you buy for a recipe then it sits lurking in the back of the cupboard so here are 3 things to help you get the full use out of it

  1. Roasted vegetable sandwich

Roast any left over veg for 45 mins.

Add 2 tbs of pomegranate molasses and seasoning to a tub of cream cheese.

Spread two slice of toasted sourdough bread generously with the flavoured cream cheese.

Add the roasted veg and freshly sliced tomato .

    Eat and enjoy.

  2. Pomegranate Spritz

Add a shot of pomegranate molasses to a glass with ice.

Top with your choice of bubbles, our favourites are Prosecco or soda water.

    Add seasonal berries.

  3. Sprout and pomegranate winter salad

Check the link below, the dressing in this recipe works great on a green salad too.
