Rosemary and Black Pepper Mocktail

Well guys if you have over indulged over the holiday season we have the perfect alcohol free drink for you. If you are doing “Dry January” this is going to be your go to drink I promise you will love it. It is fresh and uplifting. The black pepper elevates this drink to the next level so don’t be afraid to add this.

Ingredients

For the rosemary and pepper syrup:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

5 sprigs of rosemary

1 tbsp black peppercorns

For one drink:

Cucumber, 4cm chunk

Juice of 1/2 lime

50ml rosemary and black pepper syrup

Freshly cracked black pepper, optional

Soda water

Cucumber ribbons and rosemary to garnish


Method

  1. Add the sugar, water, rosemary, and peppercorns to a pan and bring to the boil, leave bubbling for 2 minutes then reduce to simmer for another 2 minutes stirring occasionally. Leave to cool then strain

  2. Cut a chunk of cucumber roughly 4 cm long, muddle in the bottom of a cocktail shaker or mug, add juice of half a lime and the 50 ml of syrup and mix together and crack in some black pepper

  3. Strain into a glass with ice, top with soda, garnish with cucumber ribbons and rosemary and enjoy!
