Harissa is a hot chilli pepper paste from North Africa that has a slight sweet and smokey taste. You can make your own but we normally buy ours and always have a jar open in the fridge. It really is a versatile ingredient and here are our top 3 ways to use your left overs.

  1. Hummus

    Liven up shop brought hummus by swirling a couple of tablespoons of harissa through it.

  2. Cous Cous

    Add to cooked cous cous for a fiery kick.

  3. Marinade

    Add a few spoons of harissa to plain yogurt with some lemon juice and season
